Hi, Campers! Does it feel like summer is winding down? We still have some long summer nights left—let’s celebrate!
Summer means extra daylight to read a book on the porch or curled up on the couch. What are you reading these days?
This book, You Are Free, was a huge inspiration for Preemie Mom Camp. I was coming out of my two year, post-baby brain fog (why do kids zap your brain!?) and was feeling creative but uninspired. I kept seeing this inspirational book on social media so I gave it a try. JUST what I needed.
It is Christian-based and talks a lot about what God intends for our lives. The line that punched me in the gut: “Your calling is where your burdens and talents collide” POW! Three preemie babies plus a love for writing—here we are, Campers! I hope you find inspiration from it, too.
Speaking of writing, I WISH I had something like this beautiful journal when my girls were in NICU. I’ve been watching this project migrate from idea to reality—a huge passion project. I’ll be giving it to any future NICU mom I meet. Check out My Preemie Baby Book.
Having a new baby—or grown kiddos—can drain your piggy bank. That’s why I enjoy following Thrifty Littles on social media. I don’t know how she does it but this momma finds Boppy nursing pillows for $18, a Fisher-Price Rock N’ Play Sleeper for under $50 and incredible deals on jogging strollers—just to name a few of her recent finds. Her discount finds for popular toys around Christmas time are especially helpful. Consider her your new discount-hunting BFF.
Do you have kiddos about to go back to school? Pulling your hair out to keep them busy? Mary Makes Good made this adorable unicorn sugar scrub on the A Beautiful Mess blog recently. It looks like a fun end-of-summer activity. Modify the colors if you don’t want unicorn. Shades of green for dragon maybe?
I think this would be such a cute gift for NICU nurses, to friends as a “thank you” or even as a party favor at a birthday or baby shower.
Speaking of back-to-school, my 32-weeker just entered second grade! Where did the time go!? If you post a back-to-school photo of your preemie cutie, tag it with #pmccutie so we can celebrate these big kiddos together!
